Our Cross Country 2022 season began on August 22 we meet in Veterans Park at picnic shelter #2 just outside the visitor side of the Ashley High School Stadium at 5:30pm on Mondays and Wendesdays. We serve athletes ages 6-18.
During cross country season, the Cape Fear Flyers teach athletes the fundamentals of long distance running in a fun, competitive, and team-centric environment. Our program helps athletes build strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, & speed, all skills built while running cross country that can also be applied to many other sports.
The Cape Fear Flyers want to make running accessible to all young athletes. We offer scholarships for athletes whose family may need assistance so that their young athlete can participate. Please see below for scholarship information and please contact the club directly if you would like to sponsor a season for an athlete.
This years regular season will end in November after the NC AAU Cross Country District championship. Qualifying athletes continue to train for the AAU Cross Country Nationals in Knoxville, TN on December 3.
Athletes need to bring water or drink, a beach towel or yoga mat, and bug spray to each practice and dress properly for the weather.
